It was indeed the most beautiful gift that Amisha Patel’s mother Asha got on her recent birthday. Her endless wait finally came to an end with a beautiful reunion, with her actress-daughter, Amisha Patel on Sunday at a family function. It also happened to be Asha’s birthday party. Talking on the return of her daughter, Amisha’s mother says, “It was a very normal meeting. She came hugged and I hugged her back. And yeah, even as I wanted to, I couldn’t hide my tears. My doors were always open for her,” an emotional Asha told me Indiatimes.

Four years ago when the story about Amisha walking out on her parents grabbed headlines, an anguished Asha lived in hope that her daughter would return to her someday. “Nothing on earth is as powerful as the umbilical chord”, says an emotionally charged up Asha.

However, Asha is thoughtful enough to give some credit for the reunion to Amisha’s new boyfriend Kanav Puri, a family friend. “Kanav is a good influence on her in all walks of life. But talking about debiting and crediting in matters of emotion belittles the essence. I would say, this was the right time, God had pre-decided it and everything happened because God wanted it to,” she stated.

Talking further about Amisha’s choice she says, “Kanav is a nice guy, a very good match for Amisha. If she wants to marry him, we will stand by her decision. We have absolutely no issues with it”.

It is to be noted that Amisha’s parents disapproved of her former boyfriend Vikram Bhatt, who they, felt was solely responsible for the rift with their daughter. “Past is past, and since it’s unpleasant, there’s all the more reason not to bring it up. Let’s not dig into that and spoil the present moment which is so beautiful,” she says cheerfully.

With this reunion as the first step, do we get to hear the wedding bells of Amisha and Kanav? “It’s totally her decision, whenever she wants we will be ready,” informs mommy Asha Patel.
