Asha Patel is optimistic that daughter Amisha Patel might just return home post her break-up with director Vikram Bhatt, reports Farhana Farook

Hope has rekindled again in the Patel household. With the news of daughter and actor Amisha Patel’s break-up with longtime beau and director Vikram Bhatt doing the rounds, parents Amit and Asha Patel are optimistic about a possible reconciliation with their estranged daughter.

Incidentally, Amisha walked out on her parents Amit and Asha around three years back, alleging that they had misappropriated her funds. On the other hand, the Patels had alleged that Vikram was instrumental in tearing Amisha away from them.

“Blood is thicker than water,” says Asha in anguished tones. Amisha is our child and she can say whatever she wants. But as parents we can only wait for her return.”

Quiz her about Amisha accusing them about pocketing her earnings and she shoots back, “What money? She earned one lakh each for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Gadar,” adding, “She has been misled.”

While Amisha is reportedly seeing London-based businessman Kanav Puri (who was apparently seeing model Priya Sachdev Chatwal earlier), Asha says she’s happy about the new man in her daughter’s life. “Whether she returns home or not, as long as she is happy, I don’t care about anything else. Time is the best healer,” she shares. Ask her why she is refraining from making that first call to her and she says, “As a mother I might just do that.” And what is it that she wishes for her child? “She should be surrounded by positive people,” she answers finding it difficult to hold back her tears.

Apparently, Vikram is now seeing aspirant Adah Sharmam who is debuting in his forthcoming directorial 1920, a period horror film. The film traces the love story of an Indian boy and an English girl.
