On Eid, KT finds Ameesha Patel in a festive mood. She shares her thoughts on celebrating life

The festive season has kicked in and Ameesha Patel is quite thrilled with it. “Eid Mubarak,” she greets everybody. So, she truly believes in the unity in diversity that India stands for? “India and the film industry. If you work in Bollywood, the boundaries of religion are blurred and, for me, that is something to celebrate definitely,” she says.

But beyond festivities, there is another reason why Ameesha is happy these days. “I feel like I am settling down in the industry. For the first five years, I did every sort of movie because I had no direction.” But things have changed for her. “Now I just take up the role that gives me a wider approach to cinema. I want to prove now that I am versatile,” she says.

And what about settling down in her personal life? She has been in a relationship with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt for a long time now. Without taking the director’s name, Ameesha says, “I am not single and not yet ready to settle down. I have just found my space in the industry and have far more work to do.”
