After Shah Rukh Khan, it’s Amisha Patel who’s turning into an enthusiastic workout addict. So much so, that even after she sprained a muscle she refused to quit exercising till her trainer threw her out!
Says Amisha’s trainer, Khushroo Cooper, “Amisha pulled a muscle on her upper thigh as she fell down the stairs sometime ago. She was undergoing therapy but kept quiet and didn’t tell us. She kept coming to the gym (Euphoria) and working out till one day I found her wincing while working out on a machine.”
Gym freakKhushroo adds, “I quizzed her about it and then she revealed that she had sprained a muscle. It’s really the height of dedication that she was pushing herself to the limit as she didn’t want to stop her workouts.”
The trainer says convincing Amisha to stay away from the gym was a tough task. “I had to create a ruckus and tell her to go home and rest. Now, she comes for the workouts but we make sure she’s not straining herself. I have given her only upper body workouts.”
The workout-aholic Amisha says, “I don’t like waiting for the lift and prefer using stairs, but fell down while going home. The leg started hurting but I ignored it and continued working out till it got worse.”
Justifying actShe adds, “When Khushroo found out, he literally threw me out saying I couldn’t strain my leg further. I’ve been undergoing physiotherapy for the past couple of weeks and doing lightweights. The pain was so bad that I sometimes couldn’t sleep at night.”
Amisha justifies why she kept her injury a secret saying, “My friends wouldn’t have allowed me to go out or do anything, and I feel frustrated if I don’t work out.”
She adds, “It’s very difficult for me to go on a diet and recently I went to many birthday parties. Now, I have recovered almost 90 per cent and will soon be starting my Yash Raj project.”
Meanwhile Amisha’s looking forward to her next release, Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiya, opposite Akshay Kumar. “Working with Priyan has been like a dream. I think the film has shaped up great though I have yet to see it.
It’s a suspense-emotional-comedy-psychological thriller.”
