The actors have been waging a cold war for years. Now, they’re all set to do a film together

The cold war between Govinda and Amisha Patel is over. The duo hasn’t been on talking terms since two films they were supposed to do together (Mahesh Bhatt’s Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar and Yagnesh Shetty’s Yahoo) were shelved.

The industry buzz then stated that they were uncomfortable with each other. While Bhatt replaced Govinda with Jimmy Sheirgill in Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, Shetty shelved Yahoo after Amisha backed out.

Twice lucky

Govinda made the first move to bridge the gap when he met Amisha a few days ago. Says a source, “Govinda complimented her on her looks and that broke the ice. The two got talking for a brief moment.

This happened few days after Partner released. Two days later, they bumped into each other at J W Marriott and this meeting was warmer. They hugged and sorted out their differences and there is no tension between them now.”

Govinda admits to the patch-up, saying, “I met Amisha twice in a span of a week. She comes for her workout near my house in Juhu and I first met her there. Then, we met at Marriott. I was having lunch with David Dhawan, and she was there with a friend.”

The source adds that Govinda and Amisha will soon be doing a film together. “Govinda has spoken to three directors about a film with Amisha and him in the lead. It’s likely that David Dhawan will direct that film.”
When asked about his film with Patel, Govinda says, “I can’t reveal details. Wait and watch.”

Complete change

While the reason Patel walked out of Yahoo is still not known, Mahesh Bhatt reveals Govinda backed out from Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar. “He first sent me feelers about wanting to do the film.

When we finalised him, he said that he didn’t have dates. It’s possible Amisha and Govinda had a fall-out, but neither of them told me anything about it. Once Govinda said no to the film, I went ahead with Jimmy,” Bhatt says.

Govinda adds that Amisha has changed completely. “She has always been a good artiste but now she’s also groomed her personality. She had to work a little harder and she did it. I’m looking forward to working with her. There are rumours about differences between us but it’s all sorted out now,” Govinda signs off.
