No-show Amisha

Amisha Patel did not appear at a much talked about charity dance show in Surat recently. Spectators went on the rampage, ransacking the indoor stadium premises and damaging the state-of-the-art equipment! The organisers blame Amisha and want to file a complaint against her for breach of contract.

But Amisha says she didn’t appear because she was not given her remuneration on time. After she signed the contract, the token cheque of Rs2 Lakhs given to her, bounced and the organisers handed out a demand draft.

Her spokesperson says, 'I have never heard of the organisers. We were dealing with their local agent, Shariq. The usual practice is that they pay you the entire amount before you take to the stage. They made false promises and the money never came. They even refused to answer our calls for days.'

And Amisha’s business manager Sanjay Upadhaya adds, “After much probing, I gathered that these guys have a very bad reputation. I’m told that even Priyanka Chopra had a problem with them.”
