Ameesha Patel on what keeps her rocking.

Movie Magic

Pretty Woman: I’m big fan of George Bernard Shaw. I had read all his books and watched all his plays when I travelled abroad. Among all his work, Pygmalion was my favourite. For me, Pretty Woman‘s the modern day version of Pygmalion. Richard Gere was terrific and so was Julia Roberts.

Gone With The Wind: It is a very beautiful romantic, evergreen classic.. I love everything about the film from the posters, to the story and the performances. I have even imagined myself as Scarlett O Hara a few times. I know the dialogues till date, who can ever forget the line, "Frankly, my dear I don't give a damn."

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: My all time favourite.. I was in Europe travelling in tube trains when the film released. Every time I sat in the train with a book in my hand I would think I would meet my Shah Rukh Khan in real life. I travelled a lot but my knight in shining armour remained elusive.

Hooked to Books

Bridges Across Forever by Richard Bach: What I really love about the booksis that two people who are totally different in nature are soulmates. I am a sucker for romance and according to me this one of the most romantic books ever.

The Prophet by Khalil Gibran: Every time I read the book it has a different meaning for me. The philosophies in the book are very important in various phases of your life throughout your life.

Only Love Is Real by Dr. Brian Weiss: It is about past life regression. I have spoken to doctors in America and friends who have recorded their past life regression. Apparently people you meet in this life are in some way connected to you in your previous birth. Hinduism believes in life after death and now so does the West.

Stress Busters

Fetish for cleanliness: I am paranoid about cleanliness. When I am stressed the parnoia worsens. At home I am either washing my bathroom, swabbing the floors or rearranging my wardrobe. Believe me once I am through with it I feel totally energised and happy.

Walk the talk: I walk on the treadmill or in the compound of my building. Sometimes I even go on the beach and just walk alone. I need my space when I am stressed. A long walk helps me better my mood.

Bathing away the blues:
I take long showers with various aroma oils and gels. a good scrub calms my frazzled nerves.

Food Court

Brassiere Flo in Paris: I love trying out local food when I travel. At Brassiere Flo you get the yummiest French cuisine. I don't worry about the calories when I eat.

Signor Sassi in London:The Italian food served here is to die for. Whenever I am in London I make it a point to go to this restaurant at least once.

Roadside food in Mumbai: I love junk food and am forever gorging on the chaats and other stuff available. I keep falling ill but that does not stop me from eating off the roads. Now even my friends are addicted to junk food.

Favourite haunts

Paris: As a kid, I’ve spent all my summer vacations in Paris. I am very close to my relatives who live there. It is not only a beautiful place but also has emotional memories for me.

Pune: I love spending time with my grandmother. She is an amazing lady. Whenever I am free I make it a point to drive down and be with her for a few days.

My home: It is my chill out zone. I am happy here even if I am doing nothing.
