Blockbusters like Omkara, Rang De Basanti, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Lage Raho Munnabhai and Dhoom 2 have bagged most of the nominations for the 2007 Bollywood Awards.

Omkara, Rang De Basanti and Kahbi Alvida Naa Kehna have been nominated in 17 categories each, Lage Raho Munnabhai in 11 and Dhoom 2 in 10.

The nominations are based on the poll conducted among non-resident Indians in the United States, Britain and Caribbean nations over the last three months. The final selections will be made by an expert committee comprising critics, artistes and other leading personalities and the awards will be presented at a star-studded glittering function on May 26.

Announcing the nominations, CEO of the Bollywood Group of companies Kamal Dandona said the increasing number of NRIs participating in the poll shows that they maintain keen interest in movies produced in their land of birth.

It is the NRIs' interest that has led to increasing number of theatres in major US cities regularly showing Indian movies, Dandona said.
