So it wasn’t just sheer coincidence when Amisha was roped in to play the role of Pinky in Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.

The film releases on February 23 and Amisha is eagerly waiting for reactions to her kooky character. She says, “I’m dressed in pink throughout the film.

Everything from my nail paint to my clothes, my purse.... everything is pink. Pinky is so obsessed with her look that she even tries to persuade her boyfriend to ape her crazy style of dressing.”

The Gujarati actress plays a Punjabi lass in Reema Kagti’s directorial debut. “My character provides the comic relief in the film. She’s a Punjabi girl who loves watching Yash Chopra films and wants to live like his heroines. Also, her obsession with maintaining her skin and hair goes beyond the normal.”

Crazy kiya re

Amisha’s character was also the target of many a joke on the sets of the film. She recalls, “All the actors would just wait for Pinky to land up on the set and then imitate her lines. It was a crazy time on the set.”

But there was some serious bonding as well. Amisha got a lot of help from her co-star Sandhya Mridul. “She was really sweet and would help me out with the Punju dialect and certain dialogues.

Both of us had a great time on the set.” Amisha reveals that with Honeymoon Travels, she took the liberty of adding her own lines to the script and even gave creative touches to make the character more fun.

She says, “Reema just asked me to play myself. There are many segments in the movie where I have actually inserted a few of my own lines and even suggested some funny one-liners for certain scenes.

The fact that I could do this goes to show how much fun we had while making the film.” But the actress isn’t too pleased about not being in the city for the release of the film. “I am leaving for my outdoor schedule of Priyan’s (Priyadarshan) film with Akshay Kumar.”
