Amisha Patel remains unaffected after her recent run-in with an abusive Air India staffer while heading for New York.
The actress attended the 26th Annual India Day Parade at New York in her capacity as Grand Marshal earlier this month.
She says, “It’s a big honour to get invited as the Grand Marshal at the Annual India Day Parade. In the past Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi have participated in the same event. Indira Gandhi had flagged off this event years back.”
Shopping spreeAsk her about the airport fracas and she says, “I got a written apology for it and don’t want to discuss it any further. As far as I’m concerned, I went there for a good cause and I’m happy with the adulation I received there.”
The organisers, Federa-tion of India Associations (FIA), echo similar sentiments.
Says Jayesh Patel, president of FIA, “Amisha Patel has been one of the most gracious and likeable Grand Marshals we have had.
We regret the misunderstanding and chaos that Amisha Patel faced before her departure for Mumbai.
We wish to tender out our apologies to both Amisha and Air India in this matter.”
Talking further about her experience she says, “I had a blast at the parade. I was there for a week and stuffed my bags with lots of goodies.
This time around, I took rounds of the flea market as well as my favourite stores like Versace, Louis Vuitton and Armani.”
