Ameesha Patel, Actor on being directed by boyfriend Vikram Bhatt.

Did being directed by your boyfriend help you perform better in Ankahee?

No it didn't! I don't mix my personal life with professional relationships. Vikram is a dear friend of mine but when we work together on the sets we are just professionals.

I respect him as a director and he treats me like any other actor on the sets. Besides, I give my best to all my films, not just to a film where the director is my friend.

Is the film based on Vikram's affair with Sushmita Sen?

I think Vikram was misinterpreted. He never said that the film was based on his relationship with Sushmita Sen. The film has nothing to do with her or anyone living or dead.

This is pure fiction and it won't be fair to compare the film with any personality.

This is the first time you will be playing a non-glamorous role in a film. Why the move?

It was a joint decision taken by Vikram and me. The character demanded simplicity since I play a doctor's wife. Yet I liked the way Vikram portrayed my character.

Will you accept a second woman in your beau's life?

No way, I think I would react exactly the way my character reacts in the film. I would try to mend the relationship, but certainly would not accept another woman in my man's life.

You're also dabbling in comedy for the first time. Tell us about it.

I wasn't even aware that I had a comic side to me until Reema Kagti offered me

Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. The film was a learning experience as an actor because I was working with the best actors from our industry including Boman, Shabhanaji and Naseer.
